We’ve been setting up an event (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/on-the-move-transitioning-information-skills-into-the-workplace-tickets-41380256461) and have been overwhelmed by the number of people who have signed up over the last few weeks. Luckily we were able to find a larger room than the one we had originally booked and we’re really looking forward to meeting all the librarians and careers staff and other interested folks who are coming along. There are still a few spaces so come along if you can, to hear from Marc Forster, Megan Wiley, Rosalind Kemp and Laura Brammar and us (Charlie Inskip and Sophia Donaldson). The programme is designed to explore what information literacy looks like in the workplace, and how this relates to what HE librarians and careers consultants do when they are supporting students. Marc will be speaking about his research into nursing and explaining his approach, Megan will discuss the role of librarians, Rosalind and Laura will present their recent work on careers information professionals, and we will be speaking about our research into insurance work. If you’re unable to come along, resources (slides etc) will be uploaded here after the event. If you are coming, we look forward to meeting you!
